Who am I?

Aloha and let me introduce myself; my name is Fleur and for the last nine years I have been living in Australia, people often ask where I lived as it is such a huge country every State is so different and even just driving a few hours interstate the scenery can dramatically change.

For most of my time in Australia I lived very nomadically a little by foot and tent but mostly in many different homes on wheels (vans). This lifestyle allowed me to explore and in doing so I found the beautiful art of Ka Huna bodywork.

Living as one with nature and very much in the present moment gave me the chance (without knowing it) to practice Manawa one of the 7 principles of Huna philosophy it encourages us to move with the rhythm of life, to be flexible, and to trust that the moment is exactly as it should be, bringing the lessons and experiences we need.

I studied at Mettes Institute, High Spirits Retreat, on the beautiful land of Kin Kin and the Kabi Kabi people, in the stunning Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

During training we are put through a huge process internally and externally, we ride the waves of emotions and push ourselves as bodyworkers to extremes, in my words we break ourselves down to be reborn so we can fully embody the Ka Huna practice, so that we can hold space for others on and off the table to start the process of letting go and healing.

Little did I know at the beginning that embarking on this Ka Huna journey would I be bringing it back to England to share with you all.

Blessings

Ka Huna Bodywork is a traditional Hawaiian healing practice that focuses on using touch and energy to balance the body, mind, and spirit. The term Ka Huna refers to the "secret" or "knowledge" and is rooted in ancient Hawaiian wisdom. This form of bodywork is characterized by long, flowing strokes, gentle movements, and rhythmic pressure. It aims to promote relaxation, release tension, and unblock energy pathways throughout the body.

Practitioners of Ka Huna Bodywork believe that emotional, mental, and physical health are interconnected. The technique involves working with the body's energy fields, encouraging the free flow of energy and addressing emotional or energetic blockages that may manifest as physical discomfort or pain. Many people find it to be deeply soothing and rejuvenating.

Ka Huna Bodywork also emphasizes the practitioner’s presence and intention, creating a meditative environment that allows clients to deeply relax and heal. It can be a wonderful treatment for stress relief, emotional healing, and overall well-being.

During a Ka Huna session tension is released, the mind is calmed, bringing fresh oxygen to the body, aiding in healing physical and emotional aches and pains, strengthening the lymphatic, immune, circulatory, digestive and respiratory systems, all with the spirit of Aloha (Love).

Using hands and forearms in continuous, rhythmic, long flowing strokes along and under the whole body; stagnant energy is shifted and moved through the body.  With this nurturing massage the client will feel fully held, and a safe space is created for the client to release any past trauma or emotional pain their body might be holding onto.

To benefit from the full experience, traditionally a session would last for 90 to 120 minutes.   This gives the time to go into some deep release techniques, releasing not only the muscles but the deep-set emotional pain possibly attached to it.

Ka Huna Bodywork

My Ka Huna relax one hour session is with a light touch and gentle flow, a soothing, restorative experience that combines incorporates traditional Hawaiian healing techniques with a calm and peaceful rhythm. During the session, I use flowing, graceful strokes, often utilizing my forearms, elbows, and hands to create smooth, continuous movements across your body.

The light touch focuses on relaxing the muscles, promoting deep relaxation without intense pressure. The gentle flow of the strokes helps to release any tension, while also enhancing circulation and encouraging the body's natural healing process. The movement of my hands feel rhythmic, almost like a wave, which helps to calm the mind and soothe the spirit.

The overall intention of the Ka Huna massage is to bring balance and harmony to your body and mind, while the light touch creates a deeply tranquil experience, ideal for those seeking relaxation and stress relief. The calming atmosphere, paired with the gentle touch, leaves you feeling peaceful and rejuvenated.

Ka Huna Relax

Pregnancy can bring a lot of physical and emotional stress. Ka Huna can be deeply soothing, reducing tension in the body and helping the mother-to-be feel more relaxed. The soft, flowing strokes used in this modality are often very calming.

Ka Huna places a strong emphasis on balancing life energy, or mana. During pregnancy, many women experience shifts in their energy, hormones, and emotions. Ka Huna can help restore a sense of equilibrium by addressing emotional and energetic imbalances that may arise during this special time.

One of the most important aspects of Ka Huna during pregnancy is that it is typically a gentle and nurturing experience. Your bodyworker will adjust their techniques to suit the specific needs, ensuring comfort and safety.

Pregnancy can stir up a range of emotions, from joy to anxiety. Ka Huna can help release emotional blockages and promote emotional healing. It is a wonderful opportunity to address any fears, anxieties, or past emotional wounds that may arise as the mother prepares for birth.

As a form of bodywork, Ka Huna can help reduce muscle tension, alleviate discomfort from pregnancy-related conditions (such as back pain, swelling, or sciatica), and improve circulation. The healing touch helps to ease physical strain, and it can also support digestion and improve sleep patterns.

Ka Huna can also help prepare a woman spiritually and energetically for childbirth. It can inspire a sense of calm and connection to the body, which may be helpful during labor and delivery. In some cases, Ka Huna practitioners may offer birth preparation sessions that focus on mindfulness, breathing, and energy alignment.
